Chris Miller .Who here has a free market (non-Keynsian) participatory disaster response strategy (for Covid-19) that is opposed to building trust between government and its citizens? Chris Miller and only the government (regulations–the law) can facilitate that bankruptcy (Parenthesis added for clarification.) Chris Miller where is the non-Keynesian model/plan for our current situation? Shea, you lost me the moment you defined states as “job creators.” Anything you may say after that is just noise to my ears. Businesses decide how/what safety precautions they wish to implement and customers decide which businesses they wish to deal with based on that.
Sure- Bezos can fire them all and replace them with people that want to work. Or they can both agree / compromise on a settlement agreeable to all, or at least most. What in McConnell’s plan is libertarian? He isn’t a libertarian. If you think he is you are confused about the definition.
Besides central planning is what got us where we are now. When it comes to things that affect the masses, Libertarians believe in voluntary cooperative action. The State is a net destroyer of jobs. The greatest destroyer of jobs. By far.
If you can argue successfully against this claim, I’d be willing to listen to whatever else you want to say.
